About

My name is Etienne de Bruin and I am the founder of New Technical Fund, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. I created the fund in 2019 because I want to see people who are stuck in broken economical and educational systems benefit from the love, empathy and profound problem solving skills of technology leaders.

I will be brutally honest and say that I don't have it all figured out. And more specifically, I don't know how to run a non-profit. I am used to creating or participating in startups aimed at being successful commercial entities by acquiring customers who pay for a product or service. I am used to metrics driven by mostly self serving business goals.

In 2013 I launched 7CTOs as a leadership coaching network for people in the Chief Technology Officer role. It has grown very successfully and to this day I am still filled with passion for our community.

It is this community that I want to see work together, pool their resources, gather their ideas on how to make a difference in people's lives.
